Oh. My. Gosh. It's 2019?! Where did last year go?! It seems only yesterday I was frolicking with elephants and falling off mopeds, not 10 months! Much has happened this year, as you'll know if you've been keeping up with my blog posts, but if you've read the last one you'll know that this year has something veeery special in store for me: AUSTRALIA , HERE I COME! If you didn't already know I've landed a job in Melbourne as an Au Pair. The whole process is finished- I've got my working visa, I've been getting to know the wonderful family I'll be working for, and flights are booked! I'm jetting off in 9 days. 9 DAYS! I feel like every sentence so far has ended with an exclamation mark but I'm JUST SO EXCITED! On a more serious note I'm also very nervous. I've never worked abroad before instead of travelling for leisure and I think that leaves a lot more room for homesickness. I'm going to miss my family and friends so...

Hello all! I’m so so sorry for leaving you guys hanging for so long but the brutal truth is that I haven’t had anything to blog about! But here I am with THE most exciting news... I have got a job in AUSTRALIA! As you’ll know from my last blog post, I decided at the end of summer that I was gonna give uni a miss and see where life takes me, and I guess life decided I belonged in the land down under. I’ll be working as an Au Pair with a lovely family in Melbourne for around 6 months before heading off to explore for a while and I am SO EXCITED! I love love love working with kids and to be able to do that whilst living in a different country is going to be an absolute dream. Obviously, I’ll miss my family and friends but this is the perfect opportunity for me to get off my bum since I’m now not going to uni. I’ll keep you all updated before I leave in terms of the preparation that needs to take place and whilst I’m out there, but until then I wish you all well!! Lizzy xx

Good evening Internet users, I really should apologise for the silence! My blog has been extremely inactive for a good, long time, purely because I've not been doing much worthy of writing about. However, I've recently come to a decision, that was no surprise to those who know me well, that I'd like to share with you all. Around August time I had a huge revelation that Architecture, my intended course, wasn't my true calling and I wasn't prepared to spend all that time (7 year course, guys... no thankyou), effort and money studying something I wasn't 100% positive I wanted to study. I'm still looking for a catchphrase if anyone can suggest anything! 'Hello readers' is getting a bit overused! I'll put some thought into it. Last time, I left you just after I had flown from Washington DC , via Las Vegas (that was a cool 5 hours), to Portland , Oregon , where Zach lives. We stayed with his family for a while which was ideal, particularly because his Mum's cooking and baking were to DIE for, and Zach showed me around a bit. After taking a couple of days to settle down we met up with a few of Zach's friends for an event called the Street Dance, which, surprise surprise, is where we danced in the street. Everyone was drinking and jigging around to live music and eating hotdogs and nachos. It was a really fun night. Hi friends! Summer is here and the weather in England seems to have been tropical since my depart for America so I hope everyone is enjoying the heat! I, for one, have had a blast since arriving here, despite facing a tiiiny (actually pretty big) challenge: For personal reasons that I can’t discuss, I had to leave the haven that is Camps Kenwood and Evergreen, New Hampshire.  For those who don’t know, Camp was the reason I travelled to the US, so having to leave put a small dent in my Summer plans, to say the least. I made incredible friends there and had such a fun couple of weeks. I was heartbroken to leave, but I believe everything happens for a reason, so I took it in my stride, and I’m still making the most of my time here before my visa runs out. I should still mention a few of the antics that occurred at camp that made my time there so memorable. For those of you who don't know, I landed a summer job as a Dance Instructor and General Counsellor at Camp Kenwood and Evergreen in New Hampshire , USA , and the start date is almost here! Although I'm excited now that all the preparation is over, it was a long and painful ride up to now, so I'm here to give a few tips to make it less agonising for those thinking about applying.  First of all, I should mention what Camp America is. It's an international organisation that hires people from across the globe to work at the hundreds of children's camps in USA . The one thing I have learnt from the many people I have spoken to is that no matter where you end up you're going to have the best summer of your life (I have yet to experience- I'll update you after the summer). Before the nitty gritty begins you need to apply, which requires starting an application (duh) on the Camp America website (www.campamerica.co.uk). This is very similar to a CV...

After 4 close encounters with falling coconuts, 11 flights and MILLIONS of mosquito bites, I'm finally home. Mother Nature could clearly sense I was missing travelling because England , the rainiest of places, has had glorious sunshine since my return! Also before I start, I'd love to mention I've put together some AWESOME (if I do say so myself) travel videos for South East Asia !
